Digital Cameras Blah Blah Blah....

To commemorate the 10th anniversary (or something in that neighborhood) of consumer digital cameras, Steve, Marty and I decided to talk about the evolution of the cameras we've owned personally and what we're looking for in future cameras.

My weekend at the 2006 International Podcasting Expo

My hat is off to Rob Anderson and crew of Co-opworld for staying awake for 3 days! What started out with some pretty frustrating technical glitches ended up one of the coolest podcasting experiences ever. The Co-opworld staff was so helpful and did a great job providing support for the booth owners, presenters and podcasters who attended. Way to go, Rob!

I'd also like to state once again that Penny Haynes is THE Podcasting Queen. She worked tirelessly prior to and during the expo to make it a great experience for everyone who attended and I'll bet she's STILL taking care of business post-expo. Penny, you're the best! She tells us that the next expo is just around the corner, so watch this blog for details.

An Interview with Hart Shafer, Product Manager of Adobe Audition - Episode 20

What a way to kick off the 2006 International Podcasting Expo! Kristi and I were delighted to have Hart Shafer on Views from the Coop this afternoon. Hart's knowledge of and enthusiasm for Audition, Adobe's professional audio editing program, was contagious...at least the enthusiasm part. We hope to gain the knowledge part, too. I've been using Audition since 1.5 and have recently been trying out 2.0. Audition, previously Cool Edit Pro, is the audio editing software of choice for serious podcasters and when you hear Hart describe the features, you can understand why! If you haven't listened to an episode in awhile, you'd better not miss this one since Hart has promised to come back for a sequel. Our thanks to Allison Watters for setting up this entertaining and informational interview with Hart on Views from the Coop!

An Interview with Renee' Brown of Women's Ave Radio

We just love all those women out there with the entrepreneurial spirit...and there are plenty, believe me! Renee' Brown is one of those.

She started with an online networking business, Women's Avenue, that turned into a weekly Internet radio show, Women's Ave Radio. Don't let this scare any of you guys off. You can get some great insight into what it's like to be a female entrepreneur that will help you support the lady in YOUR life. Besides, you don't want any of us smart chicks to intimidate you...do you?

Penny Haynes hosts the 2006 International Podcasting Expo - Episode 18

This is not the first time we've heard from Penny "the Podcasting Queen" Haynes and it certainly won't be the last. Penny has more energy than a 2-year old (or she seems to...ha!) and has recently been the instigator behind two major podcasting projects, an international online expo and a new podcasting ezine, both of which are by and for podcasters...while running multiple businesses of her own such as 1st Podcast Pubishing, Encouraging Audiobooks and eMedia Touch.

I love to tell everybody how Penny was my podcasting muse and is the person responsible for my entry into the podcasting community. I can safely say that once I started podcasting, I haven't looked back. Kristi and I are very excited to be a part of the upcoming Expo and I am proud to be a regular contributor to the newly launched Podcaster Central.

Penny's passion for podcasting is infectious and her belief that God was behind it all will inspire you. We invite you to join us April 21-23 for the 2006 International Podcasting Expo and to enjoy the 1st edition of Podcaster Central.

Join us for an interview with Penny Haynes!

The podcasting world is bustin' out! As you all know, I learned the podcasting ropes from Penny not quite a year ago. She offered a great online class called "Podcasting for the Busy Entrepreneur" and it was the beginning of a new tekkie passion for me and the start of Views from the Coop! Penny offers the 5-wk class on CD on her website. It's the third one down. Check it out....you can hear my very first attempt at podcasting!

Penny and her band of podcasting misfits have just launched a new magazine called Podcaster Central. It's available in print and OF COURSE as a podcast! I share a column with Shane Matsumoto of Paradigm Lost Productions alternately called Reverend Mac and the PC Chik or The PC Chik and Reverend Mac...depending on who the writer is, me or Shane! This week, we'll talk to Penny about the agony and the ecstasy of being a podcast magazine publisher.

There's also another big event on the podcasting horizon: The International Podcasting Expo. It will be hosted at Co-opworld from April 21-23 and once again, Penny was the instigator and will serve as host! Is it any wonder I call her the Podcasting Queen? Tickets are on sale now and Penny will tell you how you can join in the podcasting fun! Read the Press Release for more info!

For those diehard participants who waited around last week for Shane and me to figure out why Shane couldn't login, I appreciate your patience. We kicked the problem upstairs and have been advised that Shane and his Mac will be able to login this week. That means that my Podcaster Central co-columnist, Shane Matsumoto aka Reverend Mac, will be on hand for a VFTC Mac show (tentatively scheduled for April 14)! A self-confessed Mac-oholic, Shane is the guy who can tell us about all things Mac....and admit it, you know you're curious!

Join us this Friday, April 7 at 9am CST for a talk with Penny, the Podcasting Queen!
